I really like the YBR have made several in various colors & themes. the inst are a little hard at first but they do have good pics & tell you how many blocks to use. I avoid placing white/light colors on the big pieces. Agree it was hard using yardage but did figure it out or cut into fat quarters share with friend. Daughter & I do this. Also using a extra fat quarters works too. good Luck

Kind of reminds me of a Turning Twenty pattern I used. It had 11 different fabrics in each block, randomly chosen from the fabrics I'd cut.
In the end I loved it!

I have the YBR pattern and I find it easy to follow. I have made several. On the back it tells you how many fat quarters to use for each side. If you wanted to use yardage a fat quarter is usually 18x20-22. I f you have full yards or half yards you can make your own fat quarters. If not just figure out how much yardage will give you the equivalent 18x20-22.

I made the YBR using scraps from another quilt (probably 70 different fabrics total), making sure I had at least a couple cuts from each. Also used the Psalms of Comfort panels incorporated in it. Simple to do. I prefer more structure too, but was very pleased with the result. I tried to do lights, mediums and darks, mixing those within a block. Here's mine.

I love that done with lots of different fabrics!
I like the way mine is turning out; I was just surprised by the instructions. I have done Turning Twenty as well and liked it, too.

Love your quilt and your colors!

I've made two and yes it's a random pattern. I do get anal when I put the completed blocks together by trying to avoid like fabrics touching.
