I use the plastic zipper bags that shets and blankets come in. There's usually room for the fabric and pattern in them. you can see at a glance which project it is.

I might have been the one who said they put the fabric, pattern and other inspiration in a bin. I get the bins from Harbor Freight, they're cheap. I just don't cut the fabric up right away.

Yes, I do this all the time. Except instead of a ziplock bag(that don't stack well) I purchased a mesh type fabric from JoAnn Fabrics. I made custom size Bags, with zippers. They stack great and fabric breathes. And I put all the fabrics for the quilt, and either put the Book that the pattern in or a color copy of the complete pattern. Saves time having to hunt-up any part of the pattern, when it's time to make project.

I don't do it that way because I like to pick out the fabrics as i'm piecing the quilt. What looks good cut and sitting on the table doesn't necessarily look good pieced together.

I think I would add a little extra of each fabric just in case I read the cutting instructions wrong, but I would do it to save time.

Yes, and be sure and include any notes you may have made while you were selecting, cutting, pin notes on various pieces of the fabric as well regarding size etc. Saves a lot of time later trying to figure out what various pieces were to be used for. Especially if you don't cut all the pieces initially such as inner or outer borders.
