The latest cd from Trangulations has flying geese tamed; where you sew them in strips; I showed my teacher last night and she thought it was good. Then there is the way Ricky Tims does them which I think is the way the English do it where you sew rectangles and squares together to make them. It's pretty interesting. You should be able to google seach it.

Thank you all for your input.

I have thought about it and decided to keep my little brother (who is a great grandfather BTW).

This is the method I use . I have also used Jody Barrows Square in a Square method. Both are very accurate but the first has no waste. There is quite a bit with the second method.

Wow what a lot of help here, This is something I have been afraid to tackle, so I guess I will have to absorb it all and try. Right now Iam working on a cathedral window quilt that takes 750 finished blocks, think this one will take a while and fill in between other projects. I figured out it will take about 30 plus yards to do this and I am having a hard time finding it in stock at JoAnns. It seems like I only find 3 or 5 yards at a time.

why not try to order it online from them; you can use coupons to cut cost and sometimes they have free shipping.

Or ask them to do a special order at your local Joanns. You can still use the coupon, and they order 2 bolts (or whatever you need) so you're not trying to piece it together.

30 yards for the back ground fabric....seems a big high, even for a king size.
