I don't know where my grandma's cast iron irons are. I do remember them being used. We got electricity when I was very, very young. Just remember them sitting on the coal cookstove to heat up.
Also remember 4 digit phone numbers |
Recently one of my grandson came into my sewing area. He was eating a pain tortilla. He asked if I could warm it up.
Sure no problem. I ironed it for him. It was nice and warm. He loved it and I continued to do my sewing. |
On Glee they make grilled cheese sandwiches with them. When I was in high school kids that had curly hair would iron their hair with an iron--before the hand held flat irons we have today.

If a mosquito flies by while I'm ironing, I sap it with a shot of steam! :)

:thumbup:Sophie2, I hope I can remember this one. Of course, with my aim, I'll probably just end up with a wet floor.

Does anyone remember "one long and three short"?
I used to iron my hair, too. But it never stayed straight. The humidity curled it right back up again. |
I use my largest cast iron one to hold down small pieces of veneer when I have to glue it down.
