fat quarters are a quarter of a yard. Just divide the total of fat quarters by 4.
|
48.25 yards. Take the number of fat quarters and divide by 4.(i/4 of a yard/fat quarter.)
|
OOH it was a good deal...about $2.40/yd.

You are correct, Morningcoffeegal. That is the only bad thing about Ebay. It can be worst that playing the lottery or the slot machines in Vegas. I thought I had the highest bid with only 5 minutes to go. "In the bag!" per say. Someone bet me out at the last minute by a nickel. Can you imagine, 5 meesly pennies. Boy, was I teeed. So unless they have a 'buy now' on the item, you're taking a big chance. Good Luck!
|
You need to learn how to snipe. Back when I was doing a lot of Ebaying, I never, ever put in a bid until the last couple of seconds, and my bid was always a goofy amount, like $20.53. I rarely lost an auction.
|
I used to sell fabric on ebay until ebay started raising their prices to list and sell. High percentage now.
|
there are 49 1/4 yards in 193 fat quarters
|
Oooops sorry 48.25 is correct........

I did not add the S&H, rounded up my answer is 1.66 per yard.

Where did you find the book? |

Whoever got them got a bargain. Roughly 60 cents per fatquarter. The ones in the first picture were Kona Bay, I know because I have some.
As for bidding on eBay 5 minutes is waaay to early. If you really want something you need to bid in the last 10 seconds and as BigDog said bid some odd cents not just whole dollars. |
4 fat quarters make a yard- so just divide the number by 4 and you have your yardage.

your total cost is $90.49 divided that by 193 = .46 a FQ .46 x 4 = $1.84 a yard CHEAP!!!!!!!!! Item number: 280731019992 check it out![/quote] OK, Is someone really unable to take a total price and divide by the total number of units of 193 to get a unit price? I can see maybe being confused if a "Fat Quarter" was really a 1/4 of a yard... BUT if YOU found this would you give the E-BAY ID OUT TO EVERYONE??? WHY do I think this is just one big "ad" for an e-bay sale, posted as such to get it in the non-classifieds area?? |

BUT if YOU found this would you give the E-BAY ID OUT TO EVERYONE??? WHY do I think this is just one big "ad" for an e-bay sale, posted as such to get it in the non-classifieds area?? While I'm always the first to look for a conspiracy, I don't think there is one here. The original question did not mention the ad, it was just asking a math question. Plus magpie is a frequent poster on these boards. We can debate the mathematical level of difficulty of that question another time. ;-) Did it drive people to the auction and possibly affect the bidding? Yeah. But I don't view it any differently than most of the other posts linking to great sales on other sites. Those sellers certainly benefit from the traffic. I think all is kosher here (in this case). However, if someone is really, really interested in bidding on a seemingly great auction deal, the advice NOT to share is pretty wise. Until after you've made the score. Then feel free to gloat all you want. |
