Trash, too small for my likes.

Personally I don't save anything under 2" strips, otherwise I end up with a bag of clutter that I will never use.

i googled 'crumb' quilt today ..... a friend said she was working on one, and i'd never heard of it. but what a deal! think crazy quilt using these small pieces! pick up 2 pieces, sew them together, keep adding more 'til you have a piece big enought to make a block 4-6 inches. start all over, making enough blocks for a quilt by sashing them together. any size! 1st border is the sashing, 2nd border your fav color; cut letters for a saying, adage, prayer, quote, etc, applique them to the border along with your name and date.

didn't think it went through and clicked again. haven't figured out how to delete these mistakes yet

I would save those pieces in a tiny box... and maybe use them for stuffing for something. That's just me though!
|
I would trash them, too small for me to use. I don't keep anything smaller than 2.5 inches.

After reading many of the things people have said, I've changed my mind about these scraps of fabric. At first they'd be trash. But now I might save them for the birds to use for nest building material in the spring or to throw in my compost pile. I recycle glass, paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum and metal now, why not fabric and threads snippets?
