I would make them with the snowballs or whatever you want. Always good to do different patterns and colors.

I have always told my family that I do not have to buy all of your kids something when I buy one something and also if your quilt is not the same as your other family members and that is what you wanted then you should have done it yourself.

I like the snowballs and if you are going to use red like the picture I would put something additional in the intersections of the sashing

Go with your 'heart' No pun intended. If you are doing a pattern you don't love, it will make that quilt so much harder to finish.

IMHO I would do the snowballs. When they are older they can't fight over whose is who's. I love them both and would love to see a picture when it is done.

Snowball blocks... like the look, and it's still close enough that the quilts are equal.
