I have had this in my collection of sewing things for a long time...they told me it was from WWII when I bought it, but not ever seeing one like it...I was wondering maybe someone on here could tell me from what era it came from..It has 2 spools of thread on the inside and the thimble is on top...Thanks

looks like a needle keeper

looks like it was made for the military.

Is there perhaps needle storage in the core of the thread spools - does that central thing come out and open up?

sak658 06-10-2012 01:16 PM

Yes it does...can't believe it...had it all this time and didn't realize that the needles might be in there...wow, now I really do have the whole sewing kit...who knew...

It is a sewing kit for soldiers in the field.
