Decisions ... decisions. I've just cleaned up my sewing room. Now do I do my mending which is piling up or ... do I sort and play in my stash? Problem is ... I've got more material than shelves and if I do the mending DH may just build me those extra shelves for my cutting table I've been pleading for ....

mend for the shelves
play with your stash ;)---then bake him some cookies --the shelves will come!
I vote for playing with the stash. I am not real fond of mending!!!! (my poor kids would always grow out of their clothes before they ever got mended, unless it was just a button)
mend the recent stuff, throw the rest out (he'll probably never miss it, tee hee). Then you'll have time for both AND get new shelves!!!
Just mend one thing , then at least you can say you are working on it.

My GF needed a large sweat shirt for a quilted jacket so she borrowed her hubby's favorite sweat shirt that was getting ragged and needed some mending. She made the Jacket and he commented on how pretty it was BLK/RED When he asked if she knew where his sweat shirt was she didn't have the heart to tell him that the jacket he admired was what he was looking for. She wears it on date night. he is still looking for his sweat shirt it has been 2 yrs. So look through the mending maybe you will find something to add to your finished quilted projects.
Put your mending in a bag and hide in a corner. Yeah it is time to play with your stash. Works for me.
"organize" your stash so you have more room to let the mending pile up!

"I love you so much Honey that I wanted to be able to wear something of yours so I feel closer to you!!!" |

If no one has asked for anything in the mending basket you should play with your stash. I have a theory, if no one asks for an item in the mending they don't need it and will not miss it. The same thing applys to things that need ironing. lol

I once won a prize at a banquet for being the person whose children had outgrown their clothes while waiting for them to be ironed. Sadly, it was accurate. Even then, I'd rather make something new than iron or mend.

mendddddd

Mend---earn new shelves---play with stash and use new shelves to store it on!!!

No brainer....mend!!! Gotta have more shelves for the stash...!
I couldn't decide, so I worked on a quilt lol
you really iron, I thought they were for pressing seams,
LynnieK, Thanks for a good laugh. Eiltcoq.

if you need to mend to keep the body covered then should men. if you need some creative time or need a quilt to keep warm then the quilts gets the #1 vote. Divide them up. Do a bit of mending while sitting watching tv or other times when you need a break.
I rarely mend and hardly iron anymore unless it is quilting fabric. I have always hated wrinkles and ironed even things that weren't supposed to be ironed. Well, last spring I bought a blouse that is meant to be wrinkled and the tag clearly stated Do Not Iron. I figured it would be a challenge for me to wear and I needed a small challenge. I LOVE that blouse and will look for many more Do Not Iron ones. I guess I won the challenge. :)As for the shelves, your DH will probably make them for you whether you mend or not. So play with your stash.

Have some warm peanut butter cooks - OR chocolate chip cookies with a cold glass of milk and turn on a good movie. It'll all be there tomorrow! hahaha
Do wha cha gotta do. You can play with the fabric later when you fold it and place it on your new shelves.
Can't speak for you, but I would mend. I like to get all the "garbage" chores (such as mending ... YUK) done before I do the fun stuff ... the fun stuff is sort of a reward to myself for having completed chores. It seems the only way to get the chores to go away is to "bite the bullet" and do them.
Several helpful reminders about the needed shelves should do the trick. Guys see helpful reminders as nagging and they hate to be nagged. |

Definately mend! With that behind you, you will be able to sort stash and make plans for more shelves.
I would get the mending out of the way in hopes of getting those extra shelves to organize. Good luck whatever you do.
Do the mending and you won't have to think about alternatives!
right!
You all crack me up
set the timer....mend for 5 minutes, play with stash 30 minutes, mend for 5 minutes...etc.....then you can say you are doing both...LOL..gina
Get the mending done today and play with stash tomorrow.
