I went to the thrift store today and while I was looking around I spotted some beautiful hawaiian print men's shirts. Although I didn't buy any, I thought they would be beautiful in a large print quilt. Has anyone made one like this? If you have, could you share a picture please?

I cut up my late husbands shirts, but I haven't made the quilt yet. I thought I was ready, but it will be longer before I am ready to make it.

There was a post awhile back where someone made a great quilt out of Hawaain Shirts. She collected them from yard sales and thrift stores. Since I read that post I have started also to collect them. It was a great quilt. I will try to find the post.

My first quilts were all from men's shirts I found at the thrift store.

I saved the picture of the quilt that was posted because I want to make one just like it. But I did not save the post. Maybe the person who created the quilt will post. If not then maybe I can post the picture. It is beautiful.

Me also. I still have the loud shirts my late DH and I bought in Hawaii, finally cut them up but can't yet force myself to do some sewing on them. I take them out every now and then, almost 4 years but I'm still not ready.

After he died 4 years ago, my sweet aunt finally collected her DH's Appalachian Trail shirts and gave them to a friend to make into a t-shirt quilt for her. The friend did a remarkable job and now my aunt loves saying how she sleeps with her DH every night.

This is absolutely georgeous. I don't think I am skilled enough to try something like that. Beautiful quilt.

Beautiful sentiment. I'm sure it gives her great pleasure to know that her hubby's shirts that he loved are next to her.

Yes, I agree, and feel for the others who aren't ready to use their late DH's things. Hugs to everyone!
