This is an amazing quilt! I have two large bags of ties I've collected and will definitely get this book! I would like to also know if this can be washed - did you wash the ties before making the quilt?
Oh I love it!
Very cool, what great retirement gift idea!
I had someone ask me just the other day if I could make a quilt out of her deceased husbands ties, this is a beautiful way to use them.
very nice looking quilt. one day I hope to make one. I'm sure that's why I haven't goten rid of them yet, lol.

That is just way cool! It's beautiful. Ties are plentiful and inexpensive at thrift stores and the color and print combination is endless. Thanks for showing this one.

I wish my brothers would have given me our dad's ties (he must have had over 200) so I could have made each of us a rememberance. He wore a different tie every day, and even
in the assisted living. Your quilt is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! |
WOW that is nice. It is the best tie quilt I've ever seen. It looks like it was machine quilted?
I have always intended on making a tie quilt..but with redoing my sewing room some things have got to go..anyone interested in buying my ties..
LOVE IT !! Directions please...
thats really neat!
I washed all of my ties first thinkiing if they don't wash well I don't want them in a quilt. I was surprised out of about 300 only 4-5 were ruined. Now all the ties are in a large bin waiting to be used.
Beautiful! A tie quilt is on my "to do" list.
That's beautiful. Love it.
What a beautiful quilt. I have been trying to find a pattern to make a quilt from ties. Is this pattern available?

I love your quilt. I've always wanted to make a quilt out of mens ties. I might just have to think about it again and start gathering up those ties.
Very pretty. Did you have trouble working with the ties? They are
so slick. |

Intriguing! Are you cutting the ties into 'logs' or just using their own shapes?? Did you need to put fusible interfacing on them to be able to handle them? Pictures?? |
That is absolutely gorgeous, what a terrific idea.
Totally AWESOME!

Wow that's great! Did you design it or do you have a pattern name? I'm collecting ties for a crazy quilt but love your Dresden Design.   |

that is really lovely

This is great and your quilting looks awesome. I love the challenge of making something out of nothing. You are going to have us all digging around for neck ties. Well done!
I use to collect ties and save for a quilt but I think I must have gotten rid of them the last time I moved. My DH wasn't too happy with all the crates of fabric he had to move anyway.
