It has been a horrible day. I was working on a King size dresden plate quilt that I was going to sale to a lady. She saw mine and told me she wanted one and let her know when I got it done and the price. was working on free motion on the sashing and in a couple of places there was way to much material. I don't know what happened. I checked the back when I basted it and it looked good. even worse my material got hung on the foot went to get it out and cut a hole in it. and I was almost done with the whole top. so well what to do what to do watch it snow and hope I get enough so I can make me some snow creme. I hope that you day has been better than mine.

I'm sorry, I hope you get it fixed :( I love snow cream :)
Oh dear i think we all know what you are going though if i mess up on a quilt i am doing i put it down and leave it be for a few hours this way i am not angry when i come back to it and my mind is a lot more calmer so i can then start putting it right but heck its so frustrating
Sorry to hear that. Take a break for a while then go back to it. Hope your day gets better..
(((HUGS))) I am sorry this happened to you.
Hugs and kisses from me, too. Isn't this great that you have somewhere to commiserate?
Oh that is too bad! Sorry to hear.
Snow cream, didnt know that was still a comfort food.
Snow cream? I don't even know what it is! :O)
oh so sorry that happened. i do hope you can fix it well enough that she won't know you had any problems.
and no my day isn't better=I just spent $300.00 for a garage door repair. good luck |
((((HUGS))))) sometimes that is the only thing that will make things better. I love snow cream too. It brings back many fond memories.
How frustrating. I would put it up til tomorrow and try to fix it then.
If the hole is on the back, can you put a label over it?
So sorry! HOpe you willo be able to fix it. And I love snow ice cream.
Snow ice cream receipe. Take an egg or two, about 1/2 cup sugar, teaspoon vanilla, beat well, add some milk, then start spooning in snow until it is sort of like ice cream. Eat right away, it doesn"t keep.
Gosh, we never put an egg in ours. My mom would have died had she seen us eating raw eggs. It was still good! What did we know.
We had enough snow today, but didn't even think about snow cream. Too late now, ice has set in. |
I'm sorry that this happened. I hope the snow cream helped. I had never heard of this. We're supposed to get 6 inches tomorrow, might have to try it!
OOOHHHH, yes take a breather, sip some hot cocoa with lots, and i mean lots of marshmellows in it, and that should help get your day going better. At least i hope it does.
Love the idea of snow cream. The best part of fresh snow is making snow cream... About the quilt. Can you fix the quilting. Remember applique covers holes fairly well....

Made some snow cream for hubby last nite. I don't eat it cause Im cold all the time anyway.
Sorry to hear about your quilt. Hope it goes better.
I know how you feel. Yesterday we were snowed in. I spent most of it on one block. Finally gave up at midnight.
When we lived in NY we would boil maple syrup to soft boil stage and then pour over packed snow. Yummy like taffy. Blessings... |
We're supposed to get more snow here today. If we do I'm gonna quilt, makes snow cream, and quilt some more.
Is the hole in the back? Perhaps applique another dresden plate over it? I am sorry this happened to you, I hope you are feeling better today.

Can you patch the place that you tore with a cute topic related picture? A flower or something? Please don't give up, sometimes mistakes lead to a charming new idea.

Here is an update on my quilt. I spent all morning taking out the stitching in that area. The hole was close to the seam and seemed to go along the seam. So I took my spray starch and sprayed it real good. and then patted the extra material down and folded over a small seam and hand stitched and took the hair dryer and dried the material and then done FMQ along that and you can't even tell that there was ever a hole there to begin with. Thank God for the lady that done the starch thing with a quilt block. I saw it a while back on utube. Sharon Shcramber or something. and thank God it was close to a seam. If it had been on the back it wouldn't have been a big deal, but it was on the front. So thank you ladies for letting me vent. I was so mad at myself and noone around here quilts or cares that I quilt but me. I fixed it. So now to cut the binding and get it on. I will be so glad to get it done I could probably do a crazy dance. thanks for the suggestions and understanding. You ladies are the best.
That is so disheartening. Step away for awhile. So sorry about this.
Susan |
I hope the hole is in a place you can applique a small piece of fabric! :-)
