Might be moving my sewing room!
I am purging my home office, slowly but surely. The second floor room is next to my current sewing room. My DH has some of his hobbies in the home office. We are redoing the basement and he mentioned that he wants to move his stuff down there! NOW I have more incentive to gear up the purge and make room for my move. Walls are not as pitched and there are more outlets to plug into. And the one window air-conditioner is in the space. (The central air does not push cool air up there too well....gets hot!). Yay!!!! But it will be later in the summer before we get this done. Something to look forward to.
Oh, then I can repurpose my current sewing room back to a guest room. Sandy |
You have lots of work ahead of you but what an exciting adventure! You will be able to rearrange everything to your liking. You will rediscover fabric and notions you forgot you had --at least I did. Be sure to take before, during and after pictures! You will be so glad when your project is done!

Nothing but good stuff going on there!! Lots of work, but you can enjoy the process too, I hope.

It's so much fun to have more room for your hobby! I recently moved to the basement from a bedroom because there was so much room for everything. Now I'm working on getting DH to help me make it a real sewing room with lots of counter space and room for all my sewing machines. We never have enough room it seems. Or outlets!

Knock the wall down between them....live large. Guests are temporary, your space is forever.

Sounds wonderful! I would be sitting making lists and diagrams of everything I want to have in there. I always want things to be convenient so I think about placement of stuff a lot.

Congratulations on starting a sewing room from scratch, making decisions about what to keep and what not to keep can be time consuming, but the end result will be fantastic. You get a sewing room and a guest room all in one shot.

We decided to ditch the guest room 12 years ago and have not looked back. There is a hide a bed in the house and an RV in the driveway for overnight guests. I live here full time and want full use of my house. |
