Mini Dresdens
I have always liked Dresden Plate Quilts. I am making my second one now for one of my Granddaughters. I was surfing around and found a pattern and template for a mini Dresden at Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day. I ordered and can wait till it gets here. I want to make a mini for her doll. How cute will that be?

If you want to see mini Dresdens ... take a look at Granny_59's work ....
Here's her micro-mini Dresden ... http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...g-t210661.html And here's an earlier one, that's larger ... though I have a feeling Eleanor Burns' will be larger than both. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...k-t201644.html |
Let us see it when you're done.

I am putting the binding now on a mini Dresden using the Eleanor Burns Quilt in A Day pattern. The little template for the dresdens was so easy to use, I decided to get the scalloped ruler for the edge. It was so much easier than I thought it could be.

Those tiny dresden plates are VERY intimidating to me.

I thought about ordering the scalloped ruler and thought it would be too hard. Now I am rethinking that. Glad you told me.

oh my goodness, I am amazed! What wonderful work you have done . . . just gorgeous. and I agree, very intimidating - the size of those beauties!

The scalloped ruler was easy, and it can be used for marking vine paths too. I was worried that binding a scalloped would be difficult but this scallop is shallow enough that there are no weird points to maneuver. I definitely recomend it.

I have downloaded a free mini-dresden plate pattern on Craftsy/patterns

Im going there to look now, thanks.
