Out of each of your 3 1/2 in strips ( they should all be that wide) Cut in one inch increments. You need 36 of each color combination. There should be a little left over of each strip, ease for cutting mistakes and joins. Be sure to clean up your end before starting your cuts to make sure that they are straight.

While cutting your strips, you can easily along the way verify if you have done an accurate job, the light strips end up 1/2 inch so easy to line up on your ruler when cutting.

Sew on strip 4 *

Side view as you match up seams, at this size, there is not a lot of give so it is best to center it as best you can before sewing, some depending on how accurate that you are might be a little off.

Gwyn 08-22-2009 10:14 AM

I am sorry to interrupt, but where are the directions for this?

cutebuns 08-22-2009 10:21 AM

If you start at the fist page, they start there, and don't worry, you are not interupting and they follow through, when we are done I am going to put them all together for anyone that wants to do it later

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 10:21 AM

mickey 08-22-2009 10:34 AM

thank you. i just thought i had missed it. still working at it.

Gwyn 08-22-2009 10:35 AM

This is so much fun. I'm sorry I didn't know about it earlier. Fortunately, I have a bunch of 2" strips already cut.

cutebuns 08-22-2009 10:39 AM

You can use 2" strips as well, it will just make a bigger block, just adjust the size of everything else to go along

thimblebug6000 08-22-2009 10:41 AM

Okay just starting to add row 4
