Strip one and two are together and presses. I am getting excited. I have never done a mystery or a mini. Fun!

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 10:45 AM

The fun part will be when we reveal our creations to each other

cutebuns 08-22-2009 10:46 AM

If your strips are long enough, you can just recut them,

they are small though, I hope it was just the one seam on each of them

thimblebug6000 08-22-2009 11:18 AM

Adding the next one....

I only sewed three wrong.

cutebuns 08-22-2009 11:40 AM

Oh no! a warning for later when I redo them for everyone else is to warn to make sure that they are all the same!

cutebuns 08-22-2009 11:41 AM

the blocks are multi directional, if you have enought for the pattern, they could just be turned, it is just the direction of the strips that change, not the pattern of light and dark

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 11:54 AM

One more row to go, but gonna go put dinner on quick

I have GOT to stop drinking while reading these threads -- I read that and started to laugh with a mouthful of Vanilla Coke and then choked! Vanilla Coke probably isn't the best thing for a keyboard, huh? *frantically looking for tissues**

Sounds like I'm missing a fun day with you all.

Here for just few minutes - Going to go back out to see Julie & Julia with DH.

cutebuns 08-22-2009 11:56 AM

poor Ducky and her keyboard. you might want to get one of those pastic protectors for it, I was thinking of suggesting it to Ninnie as well as she has the same problem

Ninnie 08-22-2009 12:09 PM

Here is my first block!!
I love it! :D :D
It measures 3 1/2 in.
I have 3 done now.

Got one done, had to show everyone

omak 08-22-2009 12:10 PM

I got all the pieces cut, then I started sewing them together, and the machine went phhht ... so I loaded everything up and went to LQS to finish up and encourage Operation 1161 quilters .... (and spend too much money) ... now, I am back home .... printed out the next two steps, have had my lunch ... going to take a nap.
You aren't as entertaining over there as you would be if you were standing here with a whip in your hand or something LOL ....
will catch up with you all after nap and cattle are fed ....
when are we going to do another one???? 8)

Ninnie 08-22-2009 12:10 PM

It's not very good
My seams don't match up completely, but hope the next ones will get better!!

omak 08-22-2009 12:11 PM

and while I was being a little hmmm... yeah, well ...
you were posting your progress.
BEAUTIFUL!
Catch you later <wave>

cutebuns 08-22-2009 12:12 PM

They are both great! what fun

They are easier as you go along

genghis khan 08-22-2009 12:13 PM

Very nice ladies :)

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 12:19 PM

pinning would have helped mine, instead I used the pinch & pray method

amma 08-22-2009 12:20 PM

Your blocks lood awesome!!!! I can't wait to see more pictures :D :D :D

I pinch and pray all the time, the only time I pin is when I am marking the side I need to sew. they are great, don't worry about it, really, it would have been a bit easier if you had pressed your seams open.

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 12:22 PM

?? I did press my seams open

cutebuns 08-22-2009 12:25 PM

from your picture, you pressed them towards the bottom side of the picture

NorBanaquilts 08-22-2009 12:28 PM

 those are the rows

cutebuns 08-22-2009 12:29 PM

It is okay, it still looks good, i tis just easier to have them pressed open, especially when working with this size

cutebuns 08-22-2009 12:30 PM

Most of my quilting is usually pressed to one side, it is just the small stuff that I press to open. it saves on the bulk when there is so little room to start with.

mickey 08-22-2009 12:36 PM

sorry cutebuns but I have to go. I didn't get finished but I will try and finish them tomorrow. I hope! May have to go out of town for the day, won't know till I get home. Thank you for all the time you have spent on this. It was FUN!!!!!

cutebuns 08-22-2009 12:40 PM
