Tigger, one of our old cats did that all the time on me, didn't matter where I put them, she would dig them out and toss them around, if there was a dish of them she would tap it until it fell on the floor, she was such a pain to have in the sewing room, boy do I miss her, she was hit by a car last spring and had to be put down while I was away. |
Awww I am so sorry to hear that CB. I hate losing pets. That is a pain like no other. I think it is more painful cause we feel so responsible for them.
|
we have lost a few since moving out here, she was one of the worse, Maggie the dog was a pretty hard one, she passed this spring

So .... here it is .... I was pleasantly surprised, and after I took the picture ... I found that I had done a typical Omak trick
Thank you CB for doing this mini mystery. I am not a fun date and didn't stick in there for every moment, but I was thinking of you <g> ... Things I learned from the mini mystery .... 1" is too small for what I do if it is little bitty squares <g> When someone tells you "light" ... big red and white spaces do NOT red light in one inch increments  When someone tells you medium ... think REALLY dark ... although <g> with the red and white, I don't think they make a fabric dark enough for the contrast the mystery was calling for. Variety may not always be the spice of life - - at least not in one inch increments <g> .... I think that the little quilt could have handled a light that looks more like confetti falling through the air ... had I kept just one dark color at each of the six dark spots. And! If at first you don't succeed, by all means, try again! For now, this is the seed for one of the incubator covers imjustme is looking for, and with all those seams, it will be plenty light filtering <g>. Without further ado .... this is what I got done at the Sewin at LQS ... there was a lady there who did most of my ironing ... agree with CB ... rather than ironing horizontal on ironing board - - iron perpendicular And, then I found the trick that I am NOT going to fix .... will be easier to make another mini quilt |
Omak is looks great, and see we learned so much or so much of what not to do!

Sometimes, the most straight forward approach is impressive... I would do another mini JUST to be able to do something like your layout, KW <wave> good show! |

I swear! (even though my mother says I shouldn't) It wasn't until after I snapped the picture that I realized I had turned the left and right upper 2x2 sections ... by then, no way I was going back <g> ... This was a grand mini mystery, and I will be looking forward to the next one. In the meantime, I am signing off to go pay bills, finish my THIRD mystery quilt from that one day special that got CB so excited, and put all the scraps from both mysteries into a little quilt for incubator cover ... and THEN! Cut some more strips for another mini ... JUST because I want to do better. :!: :!: By the way, SUZIC46 ... is there anything in my block that looks familiar? 8) |
I love it Omak, you did a great job. I love the design whether you think you messed it up or not,
Another great Mini! Way to go!!!!!!!! :D |

So!
I hustled my bustle and except for trimmings, I have put ALL the scraps from the mini mystery together. I wanted Peanut to jump up and pose for me so you could see just how big everything is, but he didn't cooperate <g> These "scraps" will go into a center of an incubator cover ... moving on! Catch y'all later <wave> I can hardly wait to see what I actually got put together! THis picture taking thing is very helpful :!: :!: :!:  scraps left from first mini mystery August 2009 |
VERY PINK! YUCK!
oh, well ... someone is going to love this and, I know I LOVED getting some fat quarters used up ... Thank you again CB for the mini mystery, and I will be waiting for the next one with bells on my toes and where are the whistles supposed to go??? HA! I AM getting old! LOL |
I love your quilt omak!!! I think there is a lot of contrast to it and it will make an awesome isolette cover!!! :D :D :D
|
Great job, omak. Perfect for a little Girl.
|
Ooooo I can't wait to see the new quilt with all of the scraps!!!! You are soooo creative!!!! 8) 8) 8)
