Misto spary bottle and Elmers Glue

Has anyone tried the misto spray bottle (the one used for olive oil) for spray basting with Elmers Glue? This is not a real good video, but it caught my attention. I love the name of this site and had fun looking around.

I have a one of those in the kitchen and it doesn't spray the oil that great unless I pump it forever. I need to get another one to see if it is a defective bottle.

I would not use one for glue, they barely work for oil. A neat idea, but not practical in real life.

The glue appears to be staying out. My bottle of school glue is too thick to spray. So how much water would you add.?

But they do work fairly well for spray starch!

The person who owns that blog is a member here. Maybe she'll come along and let us know how she's getting along using the misto bottle.

I have one and I love it for olive oil. You can't fill it all the way to the top because the pumping that you do to create the pressure needs some "head space" inside that center cavity. Otherwise, you get a tiny little spritz and not nearly enough pressure. I hated it until I figured out I should only fill it about half full, but it lasts a really long time. I imagine you'd have to really water down the glue but it could work out well unless the glue clogs the spray nozzle.

If the glue is that watered down, would it still do it's job? How much water is enough and how much is too much? I just drizzle my glue directly from the bottle. For me, the bigger bottles don't require that much squeezing.

Agreed....straight from the bottle, tip wide open

Saw on a sight somewhere to do 50/50 glue & water, put in a small spray bottle & use like basting spray. Need to shake it up to mix. I bought the bottle & glue but have been to busy to get a top ready to try.
