I was gifted the fat quarter pak of Maywood Studio Wild Rose II. I just love the colors but have used it all up, except the yellow and pale blue. How can I make this into at least a lap quilt size and what layout would work best?

I like how you have them arranged. You can always use the 2 extra blocks for pillows or a gift bag if it is going to be a gift.

What size it it now? How much do you need to add? I can see the yellow and white, but is that blue or black?

what about adding some sashing.it would separate the blocks but I think it would look good, maybe add a corner stone of the color of your blocks..that would tie it all together.. good luck , I love this pattern and you have done a great job on the blocks..Make sure you post it when it is done would love to see it..

you know, even just a large/wide border would look good.

The dark is a gorgeous dark blue, there is a lot of white in the light sections so will try a couple of other layouts and see if a sashing will extend the size and as noted, yes, lots of borders if I can find the right colors would make it bigger.
The blocks are 6 1/2 x 8", as they lay now.

Likewise ... I see borders.
If you could get the same fabrics, I would go with the dark floral(s) for the border(s) with perhaps a yellow running stripe before you get into the broader border(s) Too, I would use one of the white background florals for the backing.

Sashing to me, would break up the design .... though it may make an interesting design in a new way.
Though, you never know til you try!

Thanks for posting your 6-1/2x8" block size.
Assuming that is the unfinished size ... that means sewn together you've got 48"x52-1/2" as is.
Larger if that is the finished block size.
As is, it can be a small lap quilt on its own
... but a perfect size to add borders to and keep the sizing of them in perspective to the centre of the quilt.

I think borders would be good for enlargement. Quilter's Cache has an array of border that you might be interested in.

Borders, definitely. I'd also use the two least favorite blocks on the back. I love them all, but choose the ones that are your least favorite and add in the two on the right. (Maybe one of the blocks that read as florals?) JMHO

This is going to be a very, very nice quilt!

If I were going to sash it, I would try out a yellow sashing around two blocks, so you would be framing a whole mountain. It will either look really good or really bad, and I'm not sure which. The right colors and combinations of border would be an easier option, though.

I have a kaufman color swatch (for lack of a better term). It has all the solid colors Kona Cotton comes in printed on 2/3 yard white fabric. I bought it at a quilt show, but I would guess it's easy to find online. It's not exactly true to color, but it's close. I've used it several times to find the color I need or someone else needs so that it can be ordered online.
