Mixing batik with cotton for rag quilt
I was thinking of doing a rag g
quilt that has a squares made of batik 5inch charm square that is surrounded by. 3.5 cotton strip on all four sides. The “x” or whatever I decide for sandwiching the layers. The cotton fabric would be ragging. what are the cons of using batik? |
Batiks fray very little. I might pink the batik edges so they kind of have a fray edge to go with the cottons.

It sounds as if you don’t plan on the Batiks being ragged so no reason to not go ahead. I mix Batiks with regular cottons and even cotton flannels. I love Batiks and probably at least 98% of my quilts include at least some.
