I mailed out two also. I'm the proud mother-in-law of a Marine.

sewitseams 03-30-2011 03:22 AM

our daughter was in the marines for five years. she still works with the marines and navy as a civilian contractor. we are going to spend this week-end together and make several blocks to send off. win-win situation; we get to spend time together and will have blocks to donate!!

Hattie 03-30-2011 04:02 AM

I mailed the blocks from my sisters and I last week (5).

Marion Jean 03-30-2011 04:06 AM

I sent mine last week! Please thank your son for me!

mhansen6 03-30-2011 06:14 AM

I made two blocks. My quilt group is making blocks and then we are going to send them in together.

I am just finishing a quilt of valor. It was funny, I told my Father In Law I was making a quilt of valor and he started crying. He said he never heard of this program but it touched his heart. He told me he was really proud of me for doing this.
Made my day.

Chris Kieffer 03-30-2011 07:17 AM

I'm mailing my two blocks as soon as my Pigma pen arrives to sign them. My son was in the Army National Guard when he was killed in an accident. He had finished boot camp two weeks earlier, and was preparing to start his Senior year at U of A. His plans were to get a little more training and go into the ARMY as an officer the following year...that was 5 years ago this past August. Thanks for letting me share that...I miss him SO MUCH!

JoyjoyMarie 03-30-2011 07:41 AM

I have three in an envelope ready to send. Father of my kids was a Vietnam vet, as well as grandfather, nephew, brother and uncle who were all in service. This is a cool program to show appreciation for all they do/did for us.

caspharm 03-30-2011 08:18 AM

I also mailed two blocks (one red and one blue) this past week. I have a son in the Navy. He has been diagnosed with mild PTSD after being sent to Afghanistan.

libber 03-30-2011 08:21 AM

Our family has a Marine Mustang or is it Mustang Marine 15 years so far. I've made 2 blocks, had so much enjoyment doing them I cut the fabric for 2 more yesterday. BTW, Buggy Barn Basics has fabric with stars, I made one with the medium blue, the red is a bit darker.
Thank you Moda for coordinating this project!!

katsewnsew 03-30-2011 08:22 AM

My 4 blocks were sent out last week, too. I am an Army Mom, son in Army over 20 years. Extremely proud of him and ALL military! I pray for these Heroes' safety every day!

mailed 2 on Monday.

spacepegs 03-30-2011 11:33 AM

I sent off 20 blocks this morning that myself and three girlfriends/quilters made. We got together last Friday for just the purpose of making blocks for this worthy cause. We challenge other quilters/sewers to do the same. We hope the response is overwhelming!

Dolly's sister 03-30-2011 11:35 AM

Mailed four blocks this morning. Put Grandson's names on them with their state, so sent them in their honor, for the soldiers who are fighting for their freedom.
