Okay I found on mine with windows xp that I have to put the numbers lock on and then hold down the alt key and put in the nos. then it works great. Thanks for the info. I guess you never get too old to learn something.hehe

Hooray, I found the character map but I don't see the heart. Can't tell which to use for degree either but there are tons of very odd symbols. I had no idea that stuff was there. These machines are amazing.
