Muliple quilts
Hullo again,
I have just been musing over quilt ideas and wondered if people tended to have more than one on the 'go' at once? or does this get too confusing? I am usually a one-at-a-time girl but couldnt help my mind from wandering while i was contemplating unpicking the behemoth quilt... |
I will pick a pattern and buy fabric for my next quilt while I work on one, but I never work on more than one quilt at a time. I like to finish one before actually starting another.
Yep. I have several UFOs Thad just need backing. One needs final border One I am currently quilting. Bitty blocks are a row of the month.
I have found that working three quilts at a time works for me. I am machine or hand quilting a quilt, piecing another quilt, and cutting out a new one. Works for me. I am a retired teacher and regularly had to have to do multiple things at one time in the classroom. So, I am never bored.
I have numerous quilts going because sometimes I feel like piecing and other times I feel like quilting.
I have numerous quilts going too. That way I can always do the type sewing I feel like. I can piece, quilt, or sew on binding. i have a designated sewing room wit 3 sewing machines set up. I can easily keep my projects out to work on when I feel like it.
I currently have 3 going at one time.
I have different things going on all the time. A multi-tasker(?) pretty much. I have 2 loads of laundry going and have multiple projects going also. Started another but in the end the one from the beginning gets completed first. It's on it's way. DH is the same way. Got him a couple project boxes for his b-day to help him keep a little organized.
I have quilter's A.D.D. (attention deficit disorder)as well. I am working on finishing the applique on one quilt top while pulling and cutting scraps for another. I currently have 2 tops finished that need quilting too.
I always have many things going on. Mostly because I need novelty if I ever want to finish anything. If I get bored, I just avoid going back to it and end up stopping completely. I also keep a running list of where I am on current stuff (especially if deadlines are involved)... Here's my current project list, the biggie is the baby quilt, he's due in early August, so I hope to finish and have it shipped by July 27th. It took me forever to find a backing that I liked.
