Ditto. "If" on the rare occassion that I do want some noise, I turn on the TV to keep me company. Usually though I like quiet.

I have my Ipod hooked up to my Bose and I have a 18' Flat tv with a DVD player in my sewing room. I have to have background noise in order to work. It's a quirky thing that I have always done. I can't work in silence.

I usually listen to country if I don't have the tv on. My DH still works & this is the only company I have all day besides my quilt inspector, TIA!!! She has her own chair pad at the end of the sewing table in front of the window!

I pay an annual feee to MLB for all baseball games. I'm a NY Mets fan living in NH. Have the tv on to a game, listening while I cut and sew.

I had my son make me a half dozen CDs of songs by artists I like. No ballgame and I've listened to enough MSNBC for the day, I sew listening to music I love.

I LOVE music. I like a wide variety (never rap though). Sometimes I listen to my mP3 player, and sometimes the radio, it depends on if I want to listen to a specific artist or not, and if I'm tired of commercials.

When I am quilting with my GF we listen to music....XM 60's or 70' mix

I do the same thing!!!!! Jodi Picoult, Tracie Peterson, Beverly Lewis, Richard Paul Evans, Wally Lamb (for sure), Nancy E. Turner.

Our library sells their old cd's and tape audiobooks and everytime I am there I can get three or four/maybe six or seven books (50 cents each) and I get lots of hours of enjoyment from them. I finished a Wally Lamb book (28 discs long). Now that's a lot of sewing!!!!! I have hundreds of audio books. Then I pass them on to a friend that is blind, and she passes them on to a friend up in Northern Minnesota and then it finally ends up at the Lion's Club for older people to listen to and enjoy. The only time I do not listen to a book when I am sewing is when I have to do math. I can't figure math and listen to a book at the same time. But I can sew - hand sew, machine sew. I cannot sew and talk at the same time - hand sew or machine sew. Funny - our little idiocyncrasies, eh? Edie

I work in a nursing home. You know them, the ones who have their tv cranked up. Give me my peace and quiet. Let me listen to myself, the dogs, the quiet, my muse and most especially to God, not particularly in that order. lol

I either listen to Native American Flute music or Oldie's But Goodies from the late 50's to early 70's.

Depends on my mood. If I have it on, it's usually either blues or contemporary Christian or classic rock.
