Dear Krystyna, Yes by all means, use it!! I purchased a quilt from the Amish a number of years
ago and it had a muslin backing and also used on the front. This quilt was VERY expensive and
I noticed they all had this type of backing, so go for it.

I use muslin and love it. I love the antique look of it and how it showcases the quilting on the back of a quilt so well. The prettiest quilt I have ever seen was pieced with one shade of muslin and the quilting on it was extraordinary - done with cream thread, with small seed pearls and a small amount of peach thread. Muslin is my absolute favorite fabric. Oh, and it is really pretty tea stained.

I have used it and it work fine.

Thanks for all the advice. Since I have about 100 yards of it -- at the cost of $20 -- I think I'll start using it for backings and save my other fabrics for the front! Just using it on small things like placemats and wall hangings means it will last far longer than I'm going to live! (I'd better get stitching just in case that asteroid comes too close!)

I use what I got. If I had your muslin, I would use your muslin.

The only reason I don't use it is because I like patterns to hide more less than perfect quilting on the back. I love the look of a muslin back with great quilting on it. If my quilting ever gets good enough, I'll certainly use it.

In general, I think it's a taste choice. If you like the look, use it.

I use muslin more on the front of my scrap charity quilts it gives that old look,
like the quilts grandma use to make, no one has ever refused one of my quilts because it has muslin in the blocks. You go ahead and use it what a bargain you got

I used muslin on my teen DGKs quilts last summer. they love them. they like to look at the quilting from the back. now, the quilting wasn't that great, but they love it and that's what counts. i'm also using muslin as the background on one of my Dear Jane quilts. if you think you'll never use up all of that muslin, you can try trading or selling it here on the QB

I use muslin on backs of some of my quilts and on baby quilts. But what is wonderful is to be able to make practice quilts for my longarm. Some of my muslin practice quilts, I have bound as they look really nice - especially with variegated thread.

I use it all the time, for piecing and on the back. I also use it for the foundation for my crazy quilting. It is so soft and has a wonderful feel after being washed.
