I have a Brother and used to use Coats & Clark. Then all of a sudden one day the thread repeatedly broke, and I kept rethreading over and over. I switched to my embroidery Exquisite thread and that is what I have used since for both my quilting and embroidery.

I have three Babylocks and they seem to like any thread. Normally use Aurifil now, but have used Mettler and Gutterman. Sulky or Maderia for embroidery.

My Babylock Serenade will sew with any thread, but the thread cutter function is particular about brands. With the wrong brand, the cut thread "unthreads' from the needle and zips up, disappearing inside the front of the machine. I have to fish it out and rethread.

The shop owner sold Aurifil, Superior and other brands but she didn't use them for testing sewing on her shop machines.

I agree, my babylock used any thread I threw at it

I had a Babylock Symphony, and now a Crescendo- haven't used any thread that has given me a problem - but I do have that unthreading problem, so perhaps the needle size is my culprit!

I have a 9 yr old Baby Lock Ellegante and I use all kinds of thread on it. For some threads I change the tension, for some I thread through a safety pin taped close to the wheel and then through the regular thread path. I guess what I am trying to say is that maybe it is not the thread all the time.

I only use Aurifil.....my Janome does not like CC.

I guess I am in luck, none of my machine have been thread snobs, yet.

My machines use C&C and C.T. threads. Good thing as I have lots and lots of them. I'm not about to change thread manufacturers.

I've had my Esante for about 4 years now & haven't had any issues with thread. She'll take it all!
