My BabyLock is a thread snob!

I've been struggling with finding the right thread for my Baby and it appears that Coats XP is the only kind it likes.
Do you have a certain type of thread that only works for you?

I have a Babylock Serenade and it doesn't mind most threads. It's partial to Mettler & Aurifil. But, it doesn't mind Connecting Threads although it is linty. That's about all I use. I have never used Coats & Clark thread in her. Good Luck!!

All of my machines like Aurifil and Superior Threads.

I have a Bernina, Janome, Brother and new and vintage Singers. I can use all brands of thread in any of them. I think the right size and type of needle is the key. When I was test sewing on the new Bernina, the thread used in the shop on most of the machines was Signature cone thread. Some of the other models of Bernina had C&C thread on them. The shop owner sold Aurifil, Superior and other brands but she didn't use them for testing sewing on her shop machines.

My only picky machine is my Janome 6500. Aurafill all the way. Superior is fine too. What is odd that I have many other Janomes and I can throw anything at them and they are fine.

Is it truly a thread snob??
.... or perhaps with tension adjustments and/or needle switches, it might get over its hissy-fit?

I have a Baby Lock, for 5 years now. I have never had a problem with different threads. I have used different weights, different material, etc. The only thing I did find is that I need a smaller needle when using a 50 weight. Otherwise it slips out of the needle and I have to keep rethreading.

My Pfaff is a thread snob. After frustratingly auditioning a lot of thread, my Pfaff really only likes Connecting Threads cotton thread. So, when I bought my Babylock I just automatically started using Connecting Threads cotton thread and have had no problems at all.

I have a baby lock quilters choice, thread has not caused me any problems, at least I do not think it was the thread. Use Gutterman most of the time as I can get a large spool of it, but have used coats and mettler.

My Babylock Quest Plus likes Aurifil and Connecting Threads. Just tried Isacord and was very disappointed in the results. My Pfaff 7570 is not picky and uses any thread.
