OMG, I would just cry and make hubby buy me a new one (if it were his fault). I'm so sorry for your Bernina, but...congrats on the lighter one!

Oh my, how heartbreaking! I do hope she is fixable. My Bernina stays home because she is so heavy. My little Featherweight is the traveler.

I had the Bernina Artista 170 Quilting edition that would also embroider. I haven't heard the final repair costs, however, $500 for a circuit board (which I know that it least will have that) and the front of the machine also has damage that did not allow me to sew. So at this point, I think I did better to purchase a lighter model computer 3 series-380. I feel sure Jack will give me a credit and that should help.

sorry she is broken , hope she can be fixed. My Bernina virtuosa 160 is very heavy with hard carrying case. I can't carry it so I purchased a Jenome Gem and love it, it is a nice little machine, also have a singer featherweight that I take in the camper for piecing, love that little thing. I would love to update my Bernina for quilting but am loosing my eyesight gradually to macular, so will use what I have as long as I can. Am blessed to still have enough sight in one eye , so I can keep sewing.

Well guys, you will never believe this! Turns out my Artista will not need a circuit board but does need a new tension thingy. The total cost (along with a service) is $170.00. The part will have to be ordered and may take as long as 3 weeks to arrive @ ASC. I am so happy that I willl now have 2 machines - a lightweight one for traveling and my Artista to use at home. I still can't believe it!

Thank goodness! That sure is good news!

I LOVE my Bernina artista 180...I bought it used, and it also has an embroidery module that I haven't even tried yet. It is a heavy one, too. But, like SevenYearItch said, it will last forever! Mine came with a #37 foot, and it has been a godsend to me as I was having problems perfecting my 1/4 inch seam.

Good news, glad it can be fixed. Happy Sewing

Glad to hear the good news! Bernina is a tough machine. Love all of mine.
