Mine goes to Joann's with me also. I make him feel very useful and always have him help choose fabrics. He has a very good eye for coordinating (most of the time). He says that's his part of making a quilt. :)

Sounds like a lot of dhs are great guys. Mine doesn't want any part of Joann's after he waited outside for a couple of hours on Black Friday LOL My middle name is Joann so that's my problem he says <G>

Nah..it's not April Fools yet so just enjoy it!

Mine won't go to Joannes with me (or a quilt show for that matter), but he bought my Janome a couple of years ago and has been on a mission to find me a featherweight so I will start going back to classes. Now he does have a free standing music studio in our back yard with all the bells and whistles, but I DO NOT look a gift horse in the mouth!

You are a very lucky woman. I am thankful that my DH has woodworking as a hobby and can actually relate to some of my quilting patterns. He taught me how to square up a quilt by measuring, not only the sides but the diagonals as well. He programmed out GPS with quilt shops along our vacation route a couple of years ago--but prefers to stay in the car. And he is my fabric mule. He works in the US and has my online orders shipped to his hotel and then carrys them home to me. Saves a lot in shipping.
We are currently renovating my quilting studio. It is lots of fun when you can relate and appreciate each others hobbies. Tammy |
I'm assuming the H is for husband, but what does the D stand for?
|
It most likely means Dear or Darling in this thread. And mostly that's what it refers to as well. But it could mean other things. Somewhere on here is a list of the abbreviations (more correctly, acronyms) that are common to this board. The one I love is FART (Fabric Acquisition Road Trip)! I will look for that list and PM it to you if I can relocate it!

My DH doesn't go near a fabric store except maybe to buy me a gift card. He is happy to let me shop though and even points out the ads and coupons. I don't think he has a clue how many $$ are tied up in my stash. We are retired and he doesn't complain about the time or money spent on my obsession. He does have some faults but I can overlook them as long as he leaves my quilting alone. I had minor foot surgery and have to keep it mostly elevated and off it for another week so he is cooking, cleaning (sort of) and getting things for me. I've done some hand sewing, lots of computer surfing, and probably saved a lot of money not buying fabric!! I think he is a keeper.

How wonderful for you, my DH also bought me the new Janome 1200 Embroidery machine and I am having such fun with it.Lots to learn!
