If you are in Anchorage, I know of one for sure: Three Sisters Quilt Shop. Because my two sisters and I would go in there each time we were all together. We loved that store.

I agree, Tater Patch is a great place, although I don't get to go very often.

Windy's World in Williamsburg Ohio. The store is in a converted barn. Windy the owner always has a pot of coffee and a quilt frame set up to sit and quilt if you would like. She has quilting classes and also soap making classes. It smells old when you walk in the fabric even through new smells old. She also sells some vintage items, plates and such along with yarn, notions, and some bake where. The bulk of the business is fabric. Going there is like going to Mayberry and playing checker with Andy, Goober and the gang.
