Love your block. I wouldn't change a thing.

jeanneb52 01-25-2011 05:12 PM

PP sounds harder than it is Yours is wonderful, great colors

EdieClay 01-25-2011 05:18 PM

Beautiful job with paper piecing ... maybe I'll get brave enough to try it.

Yaharalady 01-25-2011 05:27 PM

That is gorgeous! You did a great job of choosing fabrics. That background really makes the star POP!
I've been quilting for years and have done different PP projects and I always find they seem to take longer than non PP projects, but they are precise.

bucksprt 01-25-2011 06:21 PM

Very nice & love the colors

brickley 01-25-2011 06:51 PM

That is to cool, I hope you are very proud of it.

moonwolf47 01-25-2011 07:07 PM

fabric whisperer 01-25-2011 08:00 PM

grammysews4u 01-25-2011 08:11 PM

wolf3349 01-25-2011 08:20 PM

Thank you
Donna

makakehau 01-25-2011 08:34 PM

Oh that is lovely.
Do be careful, paper piecing is very addictive.
I believe the Surgeion General may be looking into putting
a warning on the patterns - lol

Enjoy!

Google Carol Doak...tons of paper piecing on her site (I think that's one of hers). Also Quilters Cache has them.

That's a great first pp block!

grammysharon 01-25-2011 10:01 PM

I'm jealous, I wouldn't even try that block unless it was paper pieced.

Quiltaddict 01-25-2011 10:04 PM

Great job. I love your center fabric, looks like a sparkly jewel.

KSue 01-25-2011 10:54 PM

It is very pretty. Paper piecing is the easiest thing I have ever done. Time consuming yes but worth it.

Anna.425 01-25-2011 11:47 PM

Love the color combo.

TX GMimi 01-26-2011 04:26 AM

WOW! First PP block? You'd never know it - looks like you've been doing that for years. I think PP is a lot of fun!! And the colors are gorgeous!!

Way to go!!!!

That's a great first pp block!

Carol Doak has a Yahoo Group you can join, and get tons of free pp block patterns, as well as help and advice. I tried to post a link here but it wouldn't go through.

BeverlyJo 01-26-2011 04:21 PM

I love your block. I have always loved to PP. I like the way the points usually are so sharp.

wolf3349 01-27-2011 12:03 AM

Thank you for the information. I will check it out.

Sorry you couldn't post her link. But knowing she has a site, makes me want to do some research and find it! My first PP was one of her patterns - it was such fun!

Renee110 01-27-2011 05:13 AM

Yes, this pattern is under free patterns on Carol Doak's website, and the name of block is 700 Celebration I think.

CircleSquare 01-27-2011 06:08 AM

If you are a member of Yahoo in any way, you can search for Carol's Group on Yahoo by going to the Groups link. If you don't have a Yahoo log-on, you can get one easily.

IDquilter 01-27-2011 10:27 AM

you did a wonderful job and I like the block!! keep up the good work.

Baloonatic 01-28-2011 08:47 AM

One block pattern at a time, one block at a time. It'll go easier if you break it down to its individual steps. Look at each tree one at a time, not the entire forest.

tryitall 01-30-2011 06:23 AM

WOW! Beeee utiful!

mahpattyj 02-04-2011 11:01 AM

That is beautiful, I learned to quilt doing pp and it took me a long time to make me cut and piece blocks. I was just too comfortable doing the paper piecing.
