My first rag quilt!
 

I finally finished making my first rag quilt last weekend. This is the first of 6 I'm making for each of my grandchildren. I will be finished with my 2nd one this weekend. I also made my own label.

Lovely quilt...aren't they fun? I have made several for grandkids and family. Hardest for me is all the danged clipping!!

I so love it! It's so relaxing! I can shut myself off in my sewing room all day and not want to come out as long as I'm sewing. Hubby says next thing he knows, I'll be putting a portable fridge in my sewing room and the only time anyone will see me, is when I need a potty break and at bedtime. lol

So sweet and cuddly.

I've made several rag quilts over the past few years and the kids just love them. I started one for myself, but haven't finished it yet. There's always another one to make for someone else! Yours are beautiful and look so cuddley!

I think I want to stick to making rag quilts only, as I am a beginner and hopefully I will work my way up to other types of quilts. For now though, this is where I feel the most comfortable at. I just finished adding the last row to my 2nd rag quilt and will start snipping the edges tomorrow. It's totally different from my first, will post pics of it soon. :)

Lovely quilt. It looks nice and soft and will be well loved. I started with Rag quilts and then challenged myself to move on to more traditional quilts. I enjoy the process, but really have to commit to sitting and snipping. I do have the spring snips by Fiskars to make the snipping process a little easier.

Looks very soft and cuddly. I just finished one from flannel and cotton and am disappointed that the flannel has some of the lint from ragging stuck to it. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to remove this, it looks almost like pilling of the flannel.

I've made several rag quilts and I like them because they are more or less quilt as you go. They make a nice, warm, sturdy quilt. Your work is beautiful and I'm sure your grands will treasure them.

I like it. I haven't made one of those yet, but will one day. It's on my to-do list. :)

I just love rag quilts. I have made, well I stopped counting at 200. I've made them for family, friends, charity and have
even sold them. Lots of them. What's so fun is seeing them being used years later.
