When hubby got home today from work, I grabbed him and dragged him to Goodwill to look for some fabrics..This is what I found..hmmm (we found) :-D
the one with little rosebuds is about 2 yards and the the apple one is about 3 yards..The other 3 are very nice sheets that I am going to use..The white sheet is like very nice muslin type of fabric..Which would be great to use I think as a batting type for a lighter weight quilt? |
You did well.

Mine would of hid them!!! He done good!

I so glad that you were able to find a good deal on the fabrics. My goodwill never has fabric when I go there. I'm one of the unlucky ones. :(

Nice find! The muslin would make a great backing.
Have a great weekend. |
I'm jealous , my Goodwill never has fabric. Not sure why , maybe they donate it to other causes before it ever hits the retail.
Nice find!

----------------------- I was raised to think of sheets as good backing for a quilt. Not until I got on this forum do I remember seeing a backing that was colored or patterned. Now I just bought a couple of yards of wild splashes of colors for backing on another ice cream lap quilt, to match the bright colors of the ice creams. It's already washed and ironed, all cotton and no color bleeding, ready for sandwiching and tying. |
You got some nice fabrics!! I love muslin for backings. It makes the quilting show nicely :D
Great finds. It's rare to find fabric @ my Goodwill.

I can never find fabric at the Goodwill in town here. Found a baby quilt ont time for 3.49 .
Good job
I love all thrift stores - you just never know what you will find.
good finds!
Great find! My local thrift store was given a massive amount of fabric and they are pricing and adding every day. I am trying to only go in one time a week but it is hard not to be there every day at least once! Not a lot of good bargain finds in IL at least that I can find!

I;ve found 100% wool skirts to use for wool felt embroidery, but never fabric at my goodwill. I guess I better start checking the curtain area! Thanks for the tip.
Lucky duck! Good for you!
I don't know why but at our goodwill store I can never find decent fabric. Good for you, I hope you have fun

Good for you. I love finding fabric at the thrift store.

I always look for flat sheets for backings also when I go.
Great to use for charity quilts. You two hit the jackpot today. |
