That having many quilts in process at once is normal for quilters. Back me up . .how many different projects do you have in some form of completion? :)

RST 01-15-2011 01:15 PM

8 - 12. I do get them done, eventually.

I have at least 4 quilts waiting to be finished, but many more in my mind waiting to be started!

GamaKathy 01-15-2011 01:16 PM

I have 6 going right now. 1 of which I started for my daughter 25 years ago! I believe in getting right on with my pojects don't I? LOL

dellareya 01-15-2011 01:18 PM

What a coincident that you would post this. I just made a list of the projects I'm working on and immediate future ones. I have six different projects that I'm working on. I've put off making a list because I really didn't want to know how many I had going on. Tell your husband you are very normal.

NewYearsOld 01-15-2011 01:23 PM

Oh, 9-10 at different stages.

frugalfabrics 01-15-2011 01:24 PM

6 or 7 that I can think of...and I'm sure there are some that I've forgotten about that could be added to the count.

julie777 01-15-2011 01:24 PM

no limit

gellybean402 01-15-2011 01:27 PM

Lets see........ One on the longarm waiting to be quilted, one on the sewing machine waiting to be pieced, one on the quilt board trying to figure out placement and about 5 in my head! LOL does that help?

donnajean 01-15-2011 01:28 PM

So, how many uncompleted projects does hubby have around the house?

Too many to count right now......which category? Can he be more specific? ie: quilts, totes, snap bags, wallets, pet beds, and other crafty things. Sarcasm intended. LOL :-D I hope this helps your hubby to know that you are quite normal! Fabric projects are just like Lays potato chips....you can not have just one.

cminor 01-15-2011 01:32 PM

I have to admit - I have a few that I did not get very far with. The most recent is on the design wall. I really like it but found the cutest little scrap 9 patch pattern I want to try. Of course today I had to go buy the background fabric - to which he asked how this was going to go with the sampler quilt I am working on. Silly, thats not for that project :)

amandasgramma 01-15-2011 01:32 PM

SEVEN -- but don't tell MY hubby!!!!!!!!

littlehud 01-15-2011 01:33 PM

I have 6 waiting to be quilted and one in the piecing process and a couple waiting to be started.

suebee 01-15-2011 01:39 PM

I have several. :)

craftyone27 01-15-2011 01:41 PM

At least 6 right off the top of my head and I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting!! And don't even get me started on knitting or crossstitch projects that were put on hold for quilting! LOL!! Tell him you are a perfectly normal crafty person!!

S D G 01-15-2011 01:41 PM

I have 2. 1 is a bom mystery quilt and the other is for my 7yr. granddaughter.

gale 01-15-2011 01:42 PM

I have 3 tops ready to be sandwiched and quilted and one that just needs binding.

sewingsuz 01-15-2011 01:42 PM

I have 4

cabbagepatchkid 01-15-2011 01:45 PM

It would be sort of boring to have only 1 project going at a time   . I not only have several quilting projects in the works, I also do counted cross stitch, I have several vintage sewing machines that I'm learning how to take care of and this month I am taking an online class to learn how to make my first mohair teddy bear. I work on whichever project strikes my fancy.

tomilu 01-15-2011 01:47 PM

I don't even want to count them, lol.

dotcomdtcm 01-15-2011 01:48 PM

Many painters work on more than 1 canvas at a time!!!

Joeysnana 01-15-2011 01:48 PM

I have 6 in various stages and many, many waiting to get started!! :)

luvTooQuilt 01-15-2011 01:49 PM

I have 8 WIPs.. Non are a year old..I just get the bug to work on another one from time to time..

Cuilteanna 01-15-2011 01:49 PM

Just the one. I suspect I must have some form of OCD!

Texasjunebug 01-15-2011 01:51 PM

I have 3 active, and enough stash for 10 more. (except batting!)
I find that comfortable for me. I do want some of the new fabric coming out though. It hurts to want - but the budget is stern!

Maggie_1963 01-15-2011 01:51 PM

Lol! I have several in progress, and about 4 bags with fabric, pattern and thread waiting to go...thats the thrill of it, I was just looking at some old magazines to pull from my stash to make another bag!

Tussymussy 01-15-2011 01:55 PM

Being angelic, none at the moment. Only because I had a purge and finished everything that needed to be finished.

Now, where is my ideas book........ there's that scrappy heart block I wanted to try, the lady in the lake quilt, the snowflake quilt, ooooh, the log cabin covers I have just started on to cover some buckets that I just could not throw away...... how's that for starters? LOL

calliequilts 01-15-2011 01:58 PM

2 completed tops. 2 being hand pieced, 1 UFO and at least 10 others in my head. :)

gale 01-15-2011 02:01 PM

btw my husband wouldn't dare think that. I can't count on two hands the number of unfinished household projects around here. WAY more than my unfinished quilt projects!

pittsburgpam 01-15-2011 02:09 PM

I'm working on three actively. One needs the border done, one is half done, the other only has a couple of blocks done while finalizing the design.

A few others need to be bound, one is on the long arm, and several others need to be quilted. :D

Oh... and the house BOM on this board but that's a year project. And the Bunny Hill BOM for 2011 that I'd like to do.

Juliebelle 01-15-2011 02:11 PM

I always have at least 3 in some stage of completion

maryb119 01-15-2011 02:16 PM

Right now, I have probably 10 to 12 projects in various stages of completion with a list of another 8 to 10 waiting to be started.

MamaBear61 01-15-2011 02:24 PM

I currently have 3 tops waiting to go onto my quilting machine, 1 that I just need to finish sewing down the binding(maybe done tonight), 2 with blocks pieced to be sewn together and enough pieces cut to assemble blocks for 1 or 2 more. Not to mention the ones to numerous to count that I have in my mind, waiting their turn.

gramto4 01-15-2011 02:33 PM

I too just made a list while sitting in the car on a long day's trip. I am actively working on one but need breaks from the green (for my DIL and I'm more of a blue person). I have some small projects that shouldn't take too long and some that have been sidelined for years. I think sandwiching is the hardest part for me. Just got a new machine and getting to know it so hope the actual quilting will improve.

Tiki 01-15-2011 02:43 PM

Well, I must be the weird duck of the bunch! I never start another project unless I have completely finished the one I'm working on. Is there no one else that does this?

Tiki

Jill 01-15-2011 02:45 PM

I have 7 right now, but if you give me a couple of hours I'll triple that.....

thequilteddove 01-15-2011 02:45 PM

I lost count of my projects!

patchsamkim 01-15-2011 02:47 PM

Way more than I can count...tell your husband that you are very normal!!
