My issue with this board is----"I"M NOT GETTING ANYTHING DONE" lol.
I'm lov'in this board but between this one and 1 other I go to I'm not getting anything done. I was reading the "UFO Challenge of the Month 2010" form and thought that is what I need to do--not happening, I'm here to much!!!! So tomorrow I'm going to TRY (you see I said try) to get control of my time on the computer--wish me luck I'm going to need it. :)

lilpoohbearie 08-15-2010 05:28 PM

HE HE HE HE!! I have to agree with you 100%

Grammy o'5 08-15-2010 05:28 PM

Sorry, I'm in the same boat!
I think I'll log off, but first I'll check one more post . . . .. . .

Tink's Mom 08-15-2010 05:30 PM

Same problem here...

sewmuchmore 08-15-2010 05:30 PM

I am addicted to it also. :?

nursie76 08-15-2010 05:32 PM

I hear ya!!!!! But I learn so much and get so much inspiration! Of course, my "To Do" list is growing at an alarming rate!!!!!! ;-)

craftybear 08-15-2010 05:32 PM

Addiction!

erstan947 08-15-2010 05:33 PM

I have to set the timer. No self control at all. At least if I on here I'm not in the kitchen!

SueDor 08-15-2010 06:08 PM

I know what you mean.

prezzy 08-15-2010 06:10 PM

I know what you mean. I am addicted too.

CarrieAnne 08-15-2010 06:20 PM

I know what you mean too, UNFORTUNATLY!!!!

debbieumphress 08-15-2010 06:23 PM

Addicted here too, went to a retreat and they had low reception so could not get on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. aches and pains. LOL. I miss those who "left" but I love it here and have so many friends. I sit for hours and read sometimes and post back too. Can't get enough of what everyone is up to and really appreciate the moderators and Admin Gorilla. LOL. Wonder how the ape came to be though.

DLM3 08-15-2010 06:32 PM

I agree!! So what I do is log into the site and then go cut some fabric, come check the site, go iron, come check the site, go sew, check the site- and so on- (you all get my point) I am sure I get almost NOTHING done that way but I sure do enjoy everything you all have to say! :)

AnnieF 08-15-2010 06:44 PM

I love this board....there's always new things to see....new patterns to try.....and everyone is so willing to help with tutorials and all....I have learned a lot....thanks for making it fun to come on-line.

quilterguy27 08-15-2010 06:47 PM

Hello, my name is Doug and I'm a Quilting Board Addict. Especially since I had my surgery and havent' been able to sew it seems like I'm on here from the time I'm up in the morning until I go to bed at nite only taking breaks when I HAVE TO. I'm trying to wheen myself down to a reasonable amount of time, but there is just so much good information I can't seem to pull myself away. Oh, what to do???

theoldgraymare 08-15-2010 07:15 PM

Way too much time spent here! but I enjoy every second and learn so much.

Katia 08-15-2010 07:19 PM

I feel the same way about this board. So much inspiration and so many beautiful things. I want to do it all. But there is more then that. The people here are just so dang nice. I have been involved in several other message boards to the point of obsession, but they always seem to get political and mean. People get snarky and it is down hill from there. I seldom see anything close to that here. People are so nice here, and helpful and patient. I see posts where I think, uh oh, here it comes. But nope, people back down and apologize and move on. I think I have stumbled upon a wonderful group of people here. Thank you all very much.

annette1952 08-15-2010 07:22 PM

Yup! Me too! I am on here way too much but I love it! I do have to get more stuff done though so been trying to curb it some. Setting a timer is a great idea as long as you don't keep pushing the "snooze"!! LOL

mrspete 08-15-2010 07:45 PM

Ummmmhmmmm, I know the feeling. But look at it this way, you'll always have a goal to reach !

dellareya 08-15-2010 07:53 PM

Do they have a 12 step program for people addicted to this board?

Oops! getting sleepy, sent twice!

earthwalker 08-15-2010 09:22 PM

Yep...I'm using a timer too...have to otherwise I just wouldn't get anything done. This is such a great place to "escape" to...and I learn some new technique or get ideas every time I log on. 10 more mins. then I have to get some ironing done and the fireplace set...

C.Cal Quilt Girl 08-15-2010 09:27 PM

Do enjoy hanging out here too, have to remind myself to work on something, you all do inspire me to finish ufo's challenging myself to work on what's started.... :)
Except for the 2 downey quilts just rec'd, think those will be quickies:)

Rainy Day 08-15-2010 09:30 PM

I am happy to provide on line addiction counselling to others on the board - but only if we can meet here.

manyana 08-16-2010 12:02 AM

Just got home from work. Should be preparing dinner - Oh well there are always leftovers from last night. Just love to see what everyone is up to. I am still amazed at the technology of being able to "talk" to people from all over the world instantly. I love it. It has opened up a whole new world for me. What could be more enjoyable than sharing with people who have a common interest.

set yourself some limits. i set timers...i decide i'm going to spend 45 minutes on the computer, set a timer when it goes off i shut the computer down. when i'm sewing i set a timer, after 45 minutes of sewing it is time to get up and take a walk, get something to drink, stretch...or even move on to something else. then you can decide...later i will go back and spend another 45 minutes...
there are days when i spend lots more time here then i should, but some days i just dont feel like sewing or have trouble getting going on something. i still set the timer and make myself take breaks from it...
sometimes i think timers are my best friend!

lizzy 08-16-2010 02:46 AM

Ditto! I have also put a timer on my computer desk to limit myself to 1 hour but forget to set the timer. Love this site and all the information I can use. It's worth the time. :-D

Craftygirl 08-16-2010 02:50 AM

I absolutely agree. I thought quilting was my obsession. Now I've found this site, I'm not so sure. I may try the timer idea but I have a feeling it will be a bit like setting the alarm on the weekend - the intention is there!

ljptexas 08-16-2010 02:51 AM

I love this site w-a-y toooo much. Before I know it, several hrs have past!!
So many great ideas, etc though.

I've heard you should always make sure you DRINK when you sew...
It causes you to HAVE TO GET UP !!!
