Here lately my Janome 6600 will go a bit nuts while I am sewing. I have steady pressure on the foot control and it will sew fine then it will bog down and go slow then it will ZOOM and race for a few stitches. Last night I took my foot off the peddle all together and it kept sewing for stitch after stitch. So I put up the presser foot and it complained beeping for me to put it down so it could keep sewing. It is like it is getting the signal to sew but no one is sending the signal. Have any of you had a problem like this??

my mom had an old kenmore that would sew like crazy on its own, I finally figured out that you had to turn the plug around in the socket to make it not be possessed. LOL
it wasn't computerized though so I am no help but thought I would share

No I have not had that problem but sounds to me like you need a new foot control. Marge

My Janome 6500 did that once in a while. It is in the foot control--something is sticking. I took it back to my dealer , later when you shook the foot control , there was a rattle. He tried to sell me a new one . I said I can't afford it , so he took it in the back room and took it apart and fixed it. The spring came loose. Elaine

I was about to say something similar. I had an overlocker that stitched on its own, and I realised that the foot control wasn't lifting up when I took my foot off it. A drop of oil on the relevant spot seemed to cure it. (Take the plug out first).

Thanks I will check it out. This machine isn't very old. I don't even think it is two yet.

sorry, but my weird sense of humour made me laugh when I read this, I visioned you sitting there, eyes wide open, thinking it was possessed.

I thought the same though that something was sticking in the foot peddle.

I had a brand new machine that came with a faulty foot pedal, it would stick about every 4 or 5 times I would press down on it. They are making them out of lighter weight plastics now and not as sturdy as our old ones.... I hope you find out what is causing your machine to go "possessed" and it is an easy fix

Several years ago I had a Viking that would do this but not to me. The lady I sold it to called me in a panic and said that it was possessed   I convinced her to take it in to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It eventually stopped sewing on its own. The lady I sold it too said the machine was mad because she was no longer at my house
