its spray baste for me I've used it on the last 2 quilts I made and all the table runners for Christmas its soooo much easier, but it doesn't take much

I try not to use pins. (I am always sticking myself)
Instead I use basting spray. Just make sure your backing and top are crisply ironed and you will just love the results. |
If you have a nut cracking set, the tool that is used to clean the nut out of the shell is perfect for closing pins. One end is curved and the other end has one or two grooves on it. Works like a charm. I've picked these up at yard sales everytime I see them and have passed the extra ones on to my quilting freinds.

could you spray basting on very big king size quilt?

I use one of the nut picks too....works great!

I always meant to get one of those quilt tools. I use a spoon to help fasten my pins, it works great so never bought one.

I just can't imagine spraying that stuff inside the house. Especially in the winter when we can't open any doors or windows. I'm very sensitive to chemical smells and dh is too, and I have one dd that has had asthma episodes in the past (it's been a while though) so I don't think I'd be comfortable using it. And I don't have a big clean area outside to lay out a quilt (our driveway is very rough gravel).

I hate spray baste. It gets all over everything in the area. The only way I would use it is in the summer, outside. To each her own!
