Try Goodwill or some thrift store for a cheap one.

If your machine is plugged into an outlet that is in line with a ground fault switch (the ones with the little buttons between the places you plug in) try resetting the switch. My Dad used to trip the switch by bumping it, and then wonder why none of the outlets in his kitchen worked. Hope that your problem is as easily solved! Please let us know--We care!

sure hope your machine is working again. Prayers that it quits being so stubborn when you need to get things done.

Hope you find the problem.

Oh, if only we lived a few a hours away. I would lend you a machine for as long as you needed it. Go to all the thrift stores and post you need a working sewing machine onhttp://www.freecycle.org/ it's amazing what people give away on that site. I have given away so many things I don't need anymore on that site. Someone even came and took my old tv for parts.

Any news yet? I hope it is fixed and you are busy as can be!

I hear you! Mine went into the shop 2 weeks ago, and I just found out it is going to cost me several hundred dollars to fix it. Main drive shaft went out of it, didn't even know a machine had a drive shaft. I really can't buy another machine, so I am just getting this fixed and hope it doesn't give me anymore problems. Yea, if you lived closed you could use one of my old vintage machines. They keep going!

You are NEVER going to believe this!!! I'm standing right here and I don't believe it!!! My daughter and son-in-law just walked in from being on a "date" and came to visit me and I told them what had happened to my machine and how upset I was about it. As she was telling me how sorry she was she walked over and TURNED IT ON!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I started screaming for my 18 year old son to come in and see what had just happened. He ran in so fast - I think he thought someone had broken into our home or something! :) He was with me earlier in the day when I couldn't get it working, so I told him what my daughter had just done and we all busted out laughing!!! What the?!?!?!? None of us can figure out why it's working now other than my prayers were answered! Even though my day was wasted because I didn't get the sewing done I had planned, it turned out ok because we all got a good laugh!!! Aaahhh . . . what a relief!!! :) Thank you all for the great advice and sympathy you gave me today! It's good to know I have so many "friends" who care!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :)

I'm so happy for you! I bet there is a short in the off on switch. It should be easy to get fixed. In the mean time don't turn it off just unplug from the wall socket.
