That is great! I just recently bought the new Baby Lock Symphony and I love it. It has so many nice features that my Janome 9000 does not have. I had a lot of problems with the janome. Got so I dreaded sewing cause I did not know if I would be able to finish my project. But on the other side my friend has the same Janome and has never had a problem. I think I got a lemon. It is in the shop as we speak. Soooooo glad I have my new one.

I just got the Janome 9500 and so far I love it. I noticed that several of you also have Janome. Do any of you do free motion with it?? I figured out how to drop the feet but do I need the foot pedal to keep it going more than one stitch at a time?

Sheree from Chicago 10-24-2010 06:48 PM

Congratulations! A new machine is more fun than money in the bank! LOL

Thank you quilting friend..I will do that. That is what is so nice about these forums. You get honest information.

Congrats I am sure you are sooo excited

weezie 10-24-2010 07:26 PM

I'm very impressed with that machine ... everything I've seen & read about it. If I were in the market for a new machine (which I'm not), that's the one I'd get. Congratulations & enjoy!

You're so funny!

Congratulations on your new baby. Have fun without feeling guilty.

galvestonangel 10-24-2010 08:25 PM

Congratualtions, I want a machine but I am saving for my dream trip, so I guess the machine will have to wait. They always say, You can't have everything, and I say, Why not? Actually if you could have everything, it wouldn't be as much fun to get something.

I traded in my 6600 for the 7700 and absolutely love it. The extra room is fabulous. Don't get me wrong, I also loved my 6600 but just couldn't resist the 7700. LOL I have a wonderful dealer who gives me really great deals so there was no turning back after the first day I saw it, which was the first day it came out - May 1st.

SassySewer53 10-24-2010 09:25 PM

The 7700 does not have separate bobbin winder--a big disappointment for an otherwise great machine.

kacy 49 10-25-2010 04:17 AM

Congratulations on both of your purchases. You will love them both.

rosalyne 10-25-2010 06:36 AM

Yes and it cost me with my coupon about $3.00. Janome wanted $35.00. I'd rather buy $35.00 worth of material. Roz

dolores 10-25-2010 06:50 AM

what cost you 3.00 if you don't mind me asking?

sash 10-25-2010 07:50 AM

For Marlet: If you don't mind, can u tell me how much trade in u got for your 6600? I've been sort of thinking of trading my 6600 in for the horizon, but just "sort of". lol.

rosalyne 10-25-2010 09:52 AM

The large cone thread stand. Roz

rosalyne 10-25-2010 09:56 AM

I just received the new 1/4 " foot from Janome. They mailed that pretty quick. For those of you who don't know there has been a problem with the foot we got from the 7700 machine we bought. Roz

rosalyne 10-25-2010 10:01 AM

Hi Sassy . I thought we could wind the bobbin while we sewed. Guess I'd better check it out.idid you get your new 1/4" foot? Roz

rosalyne 10-25-2010 10:10 AM

Hi Sassy. I just read on page 14 that we could use the extra spool pin towind another bobbin without unthreading the machine so that helps a little. Roz

marlet 10-25-2010 10:20 AM

Sash, I also had a table that I had purchased the year prior to the trade-in. My 6600 was 4yrs old and used a lot, along with the special table, I was allowed $1600 against the MSRP or $3000. Then I splurged and bought a Roberts sewing table. The combination of the two - the 7700 and the table - have made me a very happy camper (quilter) that is. LOL

Congrats... As a Janome gal also, I love their machines and I just know you will be happy learning and playing with all the new bells and whistles...
Enjoy.

I sew with Babylock Ellegante with Version 2 upgrade. I saw the Horizon at the shop while shopping one day. The separate bobbin winding feature spoiled me right away! No, I did not get a new quarter inch foot--I have a foot for that for my Babylock and my Bernina machines. Love them both!
Personally, I would rather be able to wind multiple bobbins and run my sewing at the same time! It saves bunches in time and threading constantly. Janome missed the boat when it dropped that from the Horizon. The 6600 machine has independent bobbin winding--I don't see why they did not keep that in place for the Horizon machine.

I am a Janome fan and now have the 6600p. But with me it was my Christmas money that bought it and other things as well. This year I am going to buy about a dozen new bobbins as several have broken for one reason or another---No I did not jump on them when they jumped onto the floor. The same bobbin is used in my new/second hand Brother1500D so I will not have to get extras for that machine as well.

Love my 6600P. I have discovered that the Janome pre-wound bobbins are wonderful. You get 12 Janome bobbins wound with something akin to the Bottom Line thread - 8 white & 4 black all for under $10. I swear they get more thread on them than I can.

Thank you Quiltswithconvicts. I will look into it next time I go into my LQS.

QuiltswithConvicts 11-05-2010 03:09 AM

My pleasure. I love to help where I can.

Annya 11-05-2010 03:12 AM

So do I. This morning I helped an elderly man in a wheel chair holding a large box full of groceries, I do not know how he could hold it -- it was heavy. I think it made his day. I am always helping some stranger I meet in the street. The Capricorn in me I guess.
