...from his 6-months-journey through US with the World Quilt Show!

I just received the parcel from the German coordinator. The quilt is in perfect condition and I am very proud about the blue ribbon I won.

My entry for the show 2011 is already finished!

Mariposa 01-05-2011 08:47 AM

Gorgeous quilt! Your quilting is fantastic! :)

Hinterland 01-05-2011 08:59 AM

Just beautiful, Andrea. Your quilts are all magnificent.

What kind of batting did you use? And how many incredibly even stitches per inch do you get?

Borntohandquilt 01-05-2011 09:28 AM

Thank you all for your nice comments!

Janet:
I used a Hobbs 80/20 for that quilt, one of my favourites. I also like the Legacy 80/20, Quilter's Dream Cotton and Tuscany or Legacy cotton.
The number of stitches varies a little, of course - depending on the fabric and the batting. On that quilt I could make ca. 15 per inch (counted on the top).

leaha 01-05-2011 09:46 AM

OMG!! Andrea, that is just drop dead, stunning, gorgeous and amazing. Yes you truly deserved the "Best of" ribbon for this one. I remember when you announced you won but were not allowed to post pictures of it. This was soooo worth the wait to see pics. Just beautiful. A true work of art.

littlehud 01-05-2011 10:08 AM

Congrats. I'm glad your baby is home. That is a beautiful quilt. I can see why it won blue.

You're right Sue! I had the absolute pleasure of seeing this particular quilt in person when I went to the World Quilt Show back in August. Her work is way more than stunning! Clearly she was born to hand quilt as her name suggests. Keep quilting Andrea, we sure love to see them!

morelcabin 01-05-2011 10:12 AM

Well worth first place! Absolutely stunning! I'd have been scared to let something that had that much work in it out of my sight.

dsb38327 01-05-2011 10:27 AM

I would suspect the co-ordinator is happy to have it back in your hands too. That is a lot of responsibility. Congratulations. It is well deserved. I always love your work.
