You RESCUED this beautiful work from a fate it didn't deserve! Someone with a sense of color, a perfectionist when it comes to piecing, and an eye for what would work together, spent many hours creating this top. Now it has found a home - finally - with someone who can appreciate and acknowledge it's unknown history, complete the quilting process, and make it a lasting memory in their home. Looking at the selection of fabrics, and the era of the fabric, I am also going speculate ,,she/he was a farmer. They wasted nothing. Hubby's shirting, mama's sunday dress and aprons, and a few feed sacks, and I can just see her/him working nights to put it together to keep a loved one warm...now one of yours. The maker would be proud.
