Does anyone know the name of this block? Thanks.

No, but I like its movement.

That is awesome :)

It's almost a quatrefoil, except for those outer triangles. I'll look around a bit--let us know if you find out the name.
|
can't help. but I like it
|
I am sure that you will find it on Quilters Cache.
Nice block.......pls let us all know when you find out. |
I haven't reinstalled Blockbase on my newer computer yet. I know I have seen the center block called Weathervane but it doesn't have the triangles in the corner.
|
I don't know the name, but I can see where you could save some time on construction by using a red square and adding a couple of quick corners...mind you, this comes from someone who does not like making flying geese. :o)

According to Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns it is a weathervane variation. #1780, it gives McKim as a reference. Although, now I see the one in the book has a slight difference to this one. This one has the corner block with the longer points of the triangles touching in the center, while the one in the book has the short ends touching in the center (which make it look like "birds") and the square nearest the center is the same fabric as the center. Anyway, I vote for weathervane.
