That's a great old quilt! I don't know a name for the block, but it would be easy to replicate with some graph paper. Looks like 2" and 3" squares to make the block, and then set on point with plain white squares alternating.

Good luck!

That's the baby when Rail Fence and Irish Chain get married.

I've been in love with that one for a long time, too. Have never found the block.

the source of the pic is on this blog http://whataloadascrap.blogspot.com/...pshe-pics.html
the blogger titles the group Shipshe pics, so I'm thinking the quilt was displayed at Shipshewanna. The blog date is 3/5/12. The blogger seems to put lots of antique quilts on her site.

Thanks Nancy-that is as far as I was able to trace the origin as well. Looks easy enough to reproduce, but I hope to find some info on the pattern....but I think it will be my choice for a second "antique" quilt for the grand's' bedroom at our house.
Lol, Wesing! Maybe that can be the name of my quilt!

Agree with above, and it looks like it is a 25 patch with large alternate white block. Love the quilt! Now on my list as well. Thanks for sharing.

agree that it could be pretty easily replicated with 2 and 3 inch blocks and come out 12 inch total....Gorgeous block and quilt! Thanks for sharing!

I made blocks out of scraps using 2" and 3" blocks, also tried it using 3" and 4" blocks-result was too large for my taste-17". Now to find navy fabric! I looked online for navy Aunt Grace, and there is not much available.
