I think it was known as "swiss dot", but others may have more information.
I also remember it as dotted swiss.
Yes, way back in the 50's (or 40's) I had a dress made of dotted Swiss and it looked like this.
Sorry, haven't seen dotted swiss in ages. Hope someone here knows where to get some. I always thought it was cute. I used to make my girls outfits and they loved the dotted swiss fabs.
My favorite Easter outfit was made from pastel green dotted swiss. My grandmother made me a small pill box hat from the dress fabric. I felt so stylish! I have tried to find dotted swiss fabric but no luck. I sure wish I saved all my dresses made from it.
i remember it as dotted swiss and it was one of my favs

Lots for sale on etsy.com. https://www.etsy.com/search/supplies...ric&ref=market
It is generally found in the apparel fabric departments. Hancock Fabrics sell it in prints as well as solids. |
I remember making my two girls dotted Swiss dresses. I made myself a culotte and the top had dotted swiss. I believe that was in the 70s or early 80s. It was meant for clothing and not 100% cotton.

I think you'll have luck searching for it in fabric stores as opposed to quilt stores. I've seen it at Fabric Depot, and they have an online store, but the search engine for it is horrible. I recommend calling or emailing the customer service department and asking. They have excellent customer service, and online orders are almost always 30% off.

Dotted Swiss! I hadn't even thought about this fabric in years!
thanks everyone from what I googled and see they still make dotted swiss but of course not like before with the fuzzy dots from what I found looks like embroidery French knots through the fabric or just printed dots. I too remember having a yellow easter dress made from that fabric and I just loved those fuzzy dots I had planed on making a pink easter dress for a friends gd .

It looks like dotted swiss

Oh my!!! Dotted swiss.....my bridesmaids wore peach colored dresses... sleeveless, umpire style, with a big ruffled collars. Big floppy hats too!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
Another idea is to check thrift shops. I've seen this type of fabric in ladies blouses. Although it has larger "dots".
My mother made a lot of dotted swiss pinafores for my sister and I.
Dotted Swiss and I loved it!
Probably already answered but it looks like dotted swiss. Used to be real popular. Try Missing Fabrics.com
Definitely dotted swiss....very hard to find....might try Martha Pullen website....or a vintage web site...or ebay...I don't think it is a currently made fabric. Good luck..
Dotted Swiss is right on for this fabric. My bridesmaids' dresses were made of aqua dotted swiss fabric back in 1970. I still have the left overs of that fabric thinking someday I will make something with it. Perhaps now it would be for my 50th anniversary the way it's going!
Makes me think of the old birdseye that was used for diapers. It was a fairly heavy cotton and not sheet like the dotted swiss.
Try decorative fabrics.com. I saw some yardage on their site just like this. Hope you find what you are searching for

Boy, that brought back memories. I had a dress made of red dotted swiss when I was about 10 - I loved that dress and wore it to shreds!
I bought gray with pink dots in 1970 for a maternity dress. The dots were a little larger than typical dotted swiss. I think I still have the yardage; never got my dress made.
I remember it as dotted swiss as well. In fact I still have some small quanities in blue and navy. Not enough to do much with, but will use it in a sunbonnet quilt.
It looks like dotted Swiss fabric to me, however, I haven't seen any in quite a while. Sorry I can't help.
Hancock's Fabric they do on-line shopping and I have always seen Swiss Dots there in every color imaginable.
Might try ebay. Somebody may be selling some and also Hancock Fabrics sells it but not sure you can get that exact color
A couple if years ago i got some from fabric.com. It was not 100% cotton but looked good. I think Martha Pullen .com carries dotted swiss fabrics.
https://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/c...n-dotted-swiss Believe it was $5.75. You should know though that it is usually a batiste weight- like a cotton lawn.
I used to make my DD dresses out of Dotted Swiss when she was small. I still have some around somewhere.
Yes, I remember it being called Dotted Swiss.
Early 70's I made a two peice bathing suit and cover up out of the dotted swiss in mint green.
It looks as if Denver fabrics has a great piece of pink dotted Swiss. It is 100 percent cotton. And before I knew you weren't supposed to, I used lots of garment fabric in quilts and (now don't anyone have a conniption) I still do. froggyintexas
