It is free to repost. Every image on Google is for public use. The ones that are copyrighted can't be copied by a search engine or any one else without special software. It is the image owner's responsibility to use the right copyright software when posting an image online. The board's rules are a little outdated for posting pictures.

Every image on Google is not free to repost. Search engines pick up copyrighted images all the time. Just because a search image picks up an image, the original copyright holder does not give up their copyright. There are software scripts and digital watermarks to protect images, but they are very easily circumvented. Again, any image on the web can be copied, but it doesn't invalidate its copyright protection.
I don't think the board's rules are outdated; they protect the owners of the board from getting sued for copyright infringement because a user posted a copyrighted image.
