Help I got a little carried away while trying some applique now I have a iron with a brown sole plate it's a shark if that matters. Any ideas from all my mentors on here

A Magic Eraser works pretty good for cleaning the sole plate.

Once I used oven cleaner it took a lot of goo off.

Dritz brand hot iron cleaner, @joann's or walmart sells one too in a tiny tube. you put some on an old towel and iron over it, if its bad it will take several times, make sure to move to a clean spot on the towel

works best when iron is warm

I have the Drizt stuff but haven't tried it yet. Hope you're able to get your iron clean.

Have used all three methods. The magic eraser works great. I thought the fabric sheets took a little more work and with my sore hands, I'll go with the easy way every time. Good luck.

I always use very fine steel wool and vinegar or water. Make sure any residual vinegar is wiped off with water and a soft cloth afterward.

I'll try the magic eraser too!

I'll have to try the magic eraser on my iron. I know it takes off lots of things but hadn't thought of it for the iron. Always learn something cool on here.
