You quilters are so great for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I have gone back to the drawing board (fabric store!). A few of you mentioned the difficulty of matching up the border with the big print. I didn't want it to look messy and don't have enough of the big flower print to do it right, nor enough for the back. I have 1 yard left with only 3 repeats so have set that aside for something else. I'm going to audition some other fabric later this morning and ask you all again. Thank you so much for all the input! I learn so much from you all!

I think DH is the one who would be "freaked out" by the border. That made me laugh out loud.
I really like the border print, but I think the combination of the blocks, applique, and border are a bit much. |
I like the floral too; but then I'm not keen on greens, so. . . Cute quilt.

I really like the floral border much better than the green. I think its adorable and matches perfectly.
|
I love the dark floral fabric - hope you can get more of it so that you can miter the borders. That way you won't have the matching difficulty. My daughter specifically asked for a black & white quilt for my newborn grand daughter as she had read that it helps the eye cones to develop.

I like it all!. Precious quilt.

I love the floral and the only place you can really see it well is in the border.
I think the clash here is between the sophistication of the floral border and the baby-ness of the appliques. If it were me, I'd get rid of the applique blocks and replace them with squares of the floral, and then border with the green... Then the baby would have a little blankie that would grow into childhood with her. |

I would put the floral on the back and use the green for the borders because the quilt center is overwhelmed by the floral border.

floral. babies can't see pastels, they see bold bright colors.

I love the floral for the border.

....and another vote for the floral border. It 'brings out' the print in the pinwheels. To me, the green is 'too simple' for this border. I agree that babies like 'interest' and the print will attract their attention. The floral border, pink corners and maybe that green for the binding. Anxious to hear what you decide.

I would put a 1 or 1 1/2 inch green and then add that beautiful floral and bind with the floral or black.
|
I love the big print too!

The floral freshens and modernizes it. It actually helps pull up the animals.
|
Babies love color and I love the floral print. It makes the fabric in your blocks pop. I say go with the floral.
|
I would do a green border with pink corners, and floral backing and binding.
I like the floral, but not a wide border. |
Love the floral, it really sets off the rest of the quilt. It is recommended to give bright colors to little ones to focus on. The whole quilt is cute
