This non-profit has quilting classes for disabled people. They are running out of thread, rotary cutter blades, fabric, and need pin cushions and thread nippers too. I am bidding on eBay for some of the stuff, but am stumped on where I can buy white and natural thread in bulk for them. They need regular spools, I think, for the classroom machines.

I assume you've looked on craigslist and ebay? And since it's for a non profit, sometimes if you contact the seller and ask for a better deal (providing you can prove it's a valid NP), they often times will surprise you. I did it with some furniture for the adult daycare that I worked with for a while. To search in more than one area of craigslist at one time, go to www.craigspal.com for a free reader!

The best pin cushions for a group are the small pillows. The pins don't stick through and they don't get lost on the table and easy to keep up with.

Connecting Threads sells quality threads cheap

I love Connecting Threads thread. It is so much cheaper than what I buy at the fabric store and is great quality.

where are you located?
what is the non-profit?
can they pay shipping or postage?
how much budget do they need for their projects?

I should clarify that I am donating the thread (and some other supplies), so I am just looking for a place to buy it inexpensively in bulk. My sister takes quilting classes at this non-profit and I am friends with the teacher, so when she runs out of supplies and money towards the end of the fiscal year for the school, she gives me a list of things she needs. Although I am within driving distance, the non-profit is in another state so I usually just give the things to my sister when I visit and she carries them in when she goes to class.

I went to the Marshalls Dry Goods website but couldn't find any thread there. So far Connecting Threads looks like the best deal for regular size spools. Since the teacher supervises quite a few students in the classroom, I assume she wants regular thread spools; however, I'll ask her if she could use cones instead as they seem to be quite a bit less expensive.
