Need Help with this block

1 Attachment(s)
I have uploaded my fabric I am using for this quilt into Electric Quilt. I printed the rotary sizes for this block, What it does not tell me is how to piece this block together. EQ says this is a churn dash block. Can someone tell me the order to sew this block.

Thanks for the Help.

You need to assemble it using a partial seam. Here is a good tute with pictures. http://piecebynumber.com/partial_seams.htm

I would assemble the green, tan, plaid units first.
Then I would attach the first unit to the center block with a partial seam.

See attached. (Hope you get the idea from the drawings)

Ok - I'm still learning. What is a partial seam?

Thanks!

Thank you, That helps alot, I had played with it and figured I would have to make the green, tan and plaid first, I just could not figure out how to get the rest, I tried but got puckers. Thanks for your help.

A partial seam - where one only sews part of it - see the illustration - For the first seam, I only sewed between the arrows and then the rest of it is left open - I usually TIE the threads in the "middle" of the seams instead of backstitching.

The "partial seam construction" was a mystery to me, too. It's a handy technique to know about.

You could also draft it out for paper piecing, which is the way I would do it since I absolutely hate partial seaming and y seams.

That, or you could add a seam down the center of the large tan pieces. This would make it a 9 patch and the corners would be made of half square triangles.
