more orange - but not bright orange - leans towards a peach - does that make sense?

you all have wonderful suggestions thanks for the input planning on going to fabric store this week with the fabric to see what might look good i hate deciding this stuff always think i will end up not liking it sample block idea is good for those that have made wedding knot pattern (E Burns) is it hard? How have you quilted it?

I too would go with the peachy color. I'd look for a good deep peach tone with teal or blue flowers or other print on it.
I think I'd use the peachy for the first border and the dark teal for the outer border and the binding. Of course, it would depend on the final look of the top to make that decision.

WOW? and before I start cutting which for border? binding? I seem to be having trouble visualizing this project for some reason - book shows so many options and not sure if would be better to make the background dark or light. any feedback would be so appreciated - no quilting/sewing friends around me to consult with!

Pulling from the colors in the print I would pick a medium light a little darker than your present light (for some reason I stay away from WOW or really light fabrics)

I would go cream on cream, not white on white.

my choice also i think smething in that color would really brighten it and make your pattern piece POP!

How about a cream (light tan) color?

I hope you are able to post pictures as you complete the quilt. I too am making a Lover's Knot for my stepdaughter for her wedding. I'm not starting it until the wedding is over, so I can devote their entire first year to it. I haven't bought the book yet. I know it'll be silver, red and black and I had no idea there was a 4th color in there. Now I do. Thanks for posting this thread!

Can't wait to see the quilt. It's going to ne beautiful. I agree, take your fabrics with you to audition. Sometimes it will jump right out at you. I've had ideas in my head about colors and when I've auditioned, boy were they the wrong idea.
